FC Twente have their first points of the season after hammering Utrecht 4-0 in Enschede.

All signs pointed to Utrecht being the favourites going into the game with Eric Ten Hag’s side winning three out of their four opening games, while FC Twente had lost all of theirs.

However, the hosts came out of the blocks quickly and took the lead on eight minutes when Tom Boere latched onto a long ball before lobbing it over David Jensen. The goal breathed life into Twente and they netted a second through Thomas Lam on seventeen minutes before Luciano Slagveer added another on the half hour mark after good work by Boere.

The second half saw Utrecht improve, but it was still FC Twente who created the better chances and eventually Oussama Assaidi made it 4-0 with a fine finish.

The victory means Twente rise up to 16th, while Utrecht are 8th.
