The midfielder is currently in his second loan spell with PSV Eindhoven and has scored seven goals in eleven league games. The Eredivisie club have already confirmed that they want talks with Chelsea over possibly extending the loan for next season as well.

However, PSV will face competition from Fenerbahce for the 24-year-old and their coach Dick Advocaat thinks signing van Ginkel would be a “no-brainer.”

He said, “He’s a good player. He can be the one who will move the ball from the midfield area to the last third.

“He’s a good passer and also a great competitor. He has a good mindset. If the terms are acceptable, signing him would be a no-brainer.”

Van Ginkel has a contract with Chelsea until 2019 and staying in London may also be a possibility for the Dutch international. His agent Karel Jansen told Standard Sport that no decision will be made until the summer.

Jansen said, “It is not clear what will happen, it is still early. The current season is still running so nothing has been decided.

“Discussions over whether he is part of Chelsea’s plans are still to be had. We must wait for the end of the season and after that we will consult with them.

“Chelsea renewed his contract before he went away on loan so in our opinion there is still a future at the club.

“We don’t know if PSV want to sign him permanently. PSV have not made a decision yet about next season at this stage.”
