Feyenoord made it five league wins in a row as they comfortably saw off PEC Zwolle 2-0 at De Kuip.

boetius feypecThe home side dominated the first half against their toothless opponents but they failed to take any of their chances with Tonny Vihena seeing a shot blocked, while Jens Toornstra sent an effort just wide of the post from range.

Five minutes after the break Feyenoord finally found the opening goal with Jean Paul Boetius and Terence Kongolo combining in the box before Sven van Beek sent a shot into the bottom corner.

Twelve minutes later the lead was doubled in almost identical fashion as Colin Kazim-Richard’s lay off in the box was hammered past a stranded Warner Hahn by Boetius.

The final half hour was a non-event with PEC Zwolle barely troubling Kongolo and Van Beek at the back, and Feyenoord comfortably held on for the win, and they could have extended the lead , but Miquel Nelom’s effort hit the bar.

Fred Rutten’s side now move up to third, above PEC Zwolle who slip to 5th.
