The game started slowly in Rotterdam and that allowed De Graafschap to gain confidence and Kenneth Vermeer had to deny both Karim Tarfi and Robin Propper. After 26 minutes Propper tricked Rick Karsdorp on the wing and after his cross rebounded back to his feet, he fired past Vermeer to give the visitors a shock lead.
The goal woke Feyenoord up and Hidde Jurjus had to make great saves to deny Tonny Vilhena, Jens Toornstra and Michiel Kramer an equaliser before the break. However, ten minutes after the break Kramer finally equalised by slotting in from Miquel Nelom’s cross.
Bilal Basacikoglu then set up Eljero Elia to fire in from close range to give Feyenoord the lead and minutes later Thijs Bouma deflected the ball into his own net to seal the victory for the home side.
The victory means Feyenoord will remain 3rd this weekend, while De Graafschap sit 17th.
