Feyenoord have moved to sign Steven Berghuis on loan from English premier league club Watford as the side from Rotterdam strengthen ahead of this weekends Eredivisie resumption.
The 24 year old right winger left AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2015 for €6 million but failed to make an impression for The Hornets only making nine appearances for the club.
After passing his medical and signing the contract Feyenoord’s technical director Martin van Geel told the press “Steven is a player with a lot of creativity, technically excellent and with good scoring ability,” the club director continued, “His arrival is welcomed within the club, we are convinced that he is a real boost for Feyenoord.”
Berghuis has been capped by the Netherlands twice and will hope this move can resurrect a career that has stagnated over the last year.
Great signing. The only question is, does Feyenoord have the option of buying Berghuis next summer?
not sure as yet, as an educated guess i would say yes
