Feyenoord have strengthened their defence with the signings of AZ Alkmaar left back Ridgeciano Haps and Heerenveen’s versatile centre-back Jeremiah St Juste.

Feyenoord agreed a €6 million deal for Haps on Sunday, with midfielder Marko Vejinovic also moving to AZ on loan. The 24-year-old, who came through the AZ academy, has signed a five-year deal and joins as a replacement for Terence Kongolo, who is now with Monaco.

The Eredivisie champions have also paid Heerenveen €4.5 million to sign Jerry St Juste, who put pen to paper on a four-year contract. The 20-year-old made his Eredivisie debut at 18 and has gone on to make 69 appearances in the league.

Both players have joined up with their new teammates in Austria for a training camp.
