Feyenoord have confirmed the signing of Swedish winger Sam Larsson from Heerenveen.

The Eredivisie champions have paid around €4 million to sign the 24-year-old, who put pen to paper on a four-year deal in Rotterdam on Monday,

Feyenoord director Martin van Geel told the official Feyenoord website, “Sam is a welcome boost that completes our squad. With his arrival, now all positions are double occupied within the group.”

Larsson joined Heerenveen from Gothenburg in 2014 and went on to score 23 league goals in 86 Eredivisie appearances for the club. He was heavily linked with a move to Benfica but has instead opted for Rotterdam.

He becomes Feyenoord’s seventh summer signing after Sofyan Amrabat, Kevin Diks, Ridgeciano Haps, Steven Berghuis, Jerry st Juste and Jean-Paul Boetius.
