Feyenoord has confirmed the signing of River Plate striker Lucas Pratto on loan until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old arrives in Rotterdam to provide competition up front for Dick Advocaat. Pratto will compete with Nicolai Jorgensen to lead the Feyenoord attack.

Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen told the club’s website, “With the arrival of an experienced striker like Lucas, we add an extra attacking option to the selection that can be immediately there. Something that is very welcome in view of the upcoming, important season resumption and the ambitions we have for this season.”

Pratto can make his debut when Feyenoord face Sparta Rotterdam a week on Sunday.

The five-time Argentina international made 105 appearances for River Plate, scoring 22 times.
