Feyenoord eased to a 4-0 victory over De Graafschap in De Kuip.

After their loss at Excelsior last weekend, Feyenoord were keen to return to winning ways against De Graafschap.

Feyenoord, who handed Cuco Martina a debut, dominated from the start but they had to wait until the 28th minute to break the deadlock. Tonny Vilhena’s strike from the edge of the box took a deflection before flying past Hidde Jurjus.

In the second half, Feyenoord remained on top and eventually the goals flowed. In the 52nd minute, Calvin Verdonk made it 2-0 before Jerry St Juste fired a low strike past Jurjus moments later.

In the 63rd minute, Jens Toornstra sealed the victory with a stooped header from Jordy Clasie’s cross.

Feyenoord could have added further goals before the end but Nicolai Jorgensen and Steven Berghuis wasted decent chances.

The victory means Feyenoord move to within eight points of Ajax in second and stay five points ahead of fourth placed AZ.
