2016 has been a miserable year so far for Feyenoord, and their poor form looked like continuing against an in-form Utrecht when Sebastien Haller capitalised on poor defending from the away side to calmly net on four minutes.
However, 15 minutes later Michiel Kramer pulled the ball back to the penalty spot for Tonny Vilhena to fire in an equaliser, and just before the break Dirk Kuyt tapped in from close range as Feyenoord turned the game on its head.
In the second half Kramer saw a goal disallowed for a foul on Ramon Leeuwin as Feyenoord looked to kill the game off, but Utrecht pushed for an equaliser late on and in the 92nd minute Ruud Boymans sent a header towards goal, only for Sven van Beek to clear off the line.
The long awaited win puts Feyenoord back up to 4th, while Utrecht drop to fifth.
For all the worry the last couple of months, 1 games and the streak is over and we are back to 3rd. Win our cup game this week and things will be moving in the right direction.
