Feyenoord held CSKA Moscow to a 0-0 draw despite Nicolai Jorgensen seeing red early in the second half.

After a poor start to their Europa League campaign, Feyenoord gave themselves a chance when they defeated CSKA Moscow 3-1 two weeks ago. Dick Advocaat’s side went for another victory in Russia.

Both sides went close but the best chance of the first-half fell for Feyenoord. However, Nicolai Jorgensen and then Bart Nieuwkoop could not convert.

However, early in the second half, Feyenoord were reduced to ten men when Jorgensen saw his second yellow for an aerial challenge. The referee deemed the astonished Dane to have used his elbow.

Despite playing with ten men, Feyenoord comfortably kept out the Russian league leaders and they take a point back to Rotterdam.

In the group’s other game, Dinamo Zagreb defeated Wolfsberger 3-0. Feyenoord now climbs to second in the group. Next week, Feyenoord host Dinamo Zagreb.
