basacikogluVI report that sources in Friesland have told them that the two clubs are locked in talks for the 19-year-old, and the deal could be completed within the next few days.

Basacikoglu, who is a Netherlands U19’s youth international, started his career in the youth ranks of Ajax, Haarlem, and RKSV Pancratius, before joining Heerenveen in 2011. Last season the winger broke into the Heerenveen first team, scoring six goals in 24 league appearances, while he has been capped six times by Netherlands U19’s.

This summer, Basacikoglu was linked by the English press to a move to Manchester United, but it appears Feyenoord have won the race.

Basacikoglu would become Feyenoord’s third signing of the summer, but the first the club will have to pay a transfer fee for, after Khalid Boulahrouz, and Warner Hahn arrived on free deals.

Feyenoord have earned €30 million from the departures of Graziano Pelle, Stefan de Vrij, Bruno Martins Indi, and Daryl Janmaat, while coach Fred Rutten still hopes to add a new striker to his squad, with Bas Dost, and John Guidetti both options.
