vermeer fVermeer was expected to leave Amsterdam this summer after losing his first team spot to Jasper Cillessen, and today it was announced that he will sign for Ajax’s fierce rivals Feyenoord.

The Rotterdam club have reportedly agreed a fee around €750,000 for the 28-year-old, who will undergo his medical tomorrow before signing a four-year-deal.

Vermeer has spent his whole career with Ajax, making over 100 first team appearances, while he has four caps for the Dutch national team, but his last international appearance was in 2013.

Feyenoord currently have Erwin Mulder as their number one keeper, and Netherlands U21 international Warner Hahn as their back up. The arrival of Vermeer may see Hahn loaned out from the club, with feeder club Excelsior looking for a new goalkeeper.

Ajax on the other hand will now look to sign PEC Zwolle stopper Diederik Boer as back up to Cillessen.
