Feyenoord went into the game having failed to win in their last three Eredivisie matches, but they got off to a perfect start when Nicolai Jorgensen headed in Bart Nieuwkoop’s cross on four minutes.
However, Feyenoord failed to build on their good start with Jorgensen and Steven Berghuis both missing decent chances, and as the half wore on ADO Den Haag grew in confidence. Lex Immers came close on two occasions before Aaron Meijers equalised in the 44th minute with a wonderful strike.
Ten minutes into the second half ADO Den Haag took the lead when Brad Jones misjudged a free kick which allowed Wilfried Kanon to head into an empty net.
Feyenoord swarmed forward looking for the equaliser, which eventually came in the 86th minute with Karim El Ahmadi bursting into the box before finishing powerfully.
Neither side could find a late winner and the game ended in a draw, which leaves Feyenoord in 6th and 12 points off the top. ADO Den Haag are 11th.
