Bakkal is a free agent after leaving Dinamo Moscow, and has indicated to Feyenoord that he is open to a return to Netherlands, with Feyenoord if they can make it happen.
The 28 year old spent a season on loan in Rotterdam during the 2011/12 campaign, scoring nine times in 29 games, before moving to Russia from PSV Eindhoven the following summer.
One stumbling block is the players wages, with Feyenoord strapped for cash, they are looking for possible investment opportunities to make the deal possible.
According to Eindhoven Dagblad, Bakkal has said yes to the move back to De Kuip, and they expect him to sign a deal with the club in the coming days.
However on Friday, Ronald Koeman was less sure of a deal when he told RTV, “It’s not a blemish if Bakkal does not come. I know there is little finance possible at the club and I respect that.”
Feyenoord only made one signing during the summer transfer window, capturing Samauel Armenteros on loan from Anderlecht, but were able o hold onto all their big names.
