A 119th minute penalty from Dirk Kuyt saw Feyenoord beat Willem II 2-1 and reach the last eight of the KNVB Cup.

kuyt vilheThe visitors stunned the De Kuip crowd on 25 minutes as Lucas Andersen took advantage of a slack pass from Marko Vejinovic before fooling Sven van Beek and sending a low strike past Kenneth Vermeer.

Feyenoord went searching for the equaliser, but it was Willem II who had the better chances in the early stages of the second half, with Richario Zivkovic missing two great opportunities to put the game to bed.

Willem II would live to regret those misses with Feyenoord eventually equalising with two minutes left as Eljero Elia sent Tonny Vilhena through on goal with a lovely no look pass and the midfielder calmly found the bottom corner.

In extra time Zivkovic wasted another golden chance for Willem II before Feyenoord clinched victory in the last minute through a Dirk Kuyt penalty. The spot kick was awarded after Dries Wuytens brought down Michiel Kramer, which earned the defender his second yellow card.

Feyenoord will now take their place in the last eight alongside PSV, Utrecht, AZ Alkmaar, Den Bosch, Roda JC, HHC Hardenberg and VVSB.
