Feyenoord are out of the UEFA Youth League in the round of 16 after a 5-2 defeat at Chelsea.

Feyenoord were always going to have it tough against Chelsea, who had won the competition in two of the last three years, and after ten minutes they found themselves already 2-0 down. Ampadu headed the hosts in front before Dutch striker Daishawn Redan made it 2-0 shortly afterwards, sliding in a Juan Castillo cross.

Achraf el Bouchataoui pulled one back for Feyenoord with a deflected effort and Wouter Burger nearly equalised on 20 minutes with a free-kick that had to be clawed away by the Chelsea goalkeeper. However, Castillo made it 3-1 before the break, with a cross that looped over Justin Bijlow.

Early in the second half, Geertruida, unfortunately, netted an own goal to make it 4-1 and then St Clair added a fifth. Noah Lewis volleyed in a corner late on to pull one back for Feyenoord before the end.
