Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason has signed a four-year-deal with Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad.

After months of speculation linking the Icelandic international to a number of clubs, Real Sociedad have beaten off all their rivals to sign Finnbogason for an undisclosed fee.
Finnbogason joined Heerenveen in 2012, and in two seasons at the club the striker has netted 59 goals in 70 league games, making him the clubs all time top scorer in the Eredivisie.
After missing out on European football last season, Heerenveen were always going to struggle to keep their star man, especially after they blocked the striker from joining Fulham in January.
Real Sociedad finished 7th in La Liga last season, meaning they will play in the Europa League next season.
Taking to Twitter Finnbogason tweeted, “Really happy and proud to join @RealSociedad !! Looking forward to great times together!”
