Louis van Gaal is the coach of the moment with the outspoken Dutchman rumoured to be taking over from the sacked David Moyes at Manchester United.

Not shy about talking himself up, Van Gaal has made a number of memorable comments to the press over the years, whether it be at Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich or his time as Netherlands boss.
Here is the top five Van Gaal quotes:
5. ” I have achieved more with Ajax in six years than Barcelona has in one hundred years.” (Said in 1997 just after taking the job as Barcelona coach)
4. “I’ve signed a contract with the Dutch national team until 2006, so I can win the World Cup not once but twice.” (Said in 2000 when Van Gaal became Netherlands coach. His side then failed to qualify for the 2002 World Cup leading Van Gaal to quit.
3. “Congratulations on signing the best coach in the world.” (Said when he signed his first deal as a coach at Ajax)
2. “Friends of the press. I am leaving. Congratulations”. (His parting shot at the Spanish press when he quit as Barcelona boss)
1. “I am who I am: confident, arrogant, dominant, honest, hard-working and innovative.” (Probably his most famous, said when in his first press conference as Bayern Munich boss)
Im sure if Van Gaal is named Manchester United boss then the English Media will love Van Gaal’s attitude, and the idea of Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho in the same league is an intriguing prospect.
