At the age of 11, Fofana left Groningen amateur side GVAV for Spanish giants Barcelona. However, the striker had to leave Barcelona after two years because the club broke rules to sign the young talent.
PSV swooped and Fofana has been impressing in the PSV youth teams since. He has been working with Ruud van Nistelrooy in the PSV’s U18’s this season, scoring eight times in four games.
On Friday, Fofana was handed his Jong PSV debut and scored twice in the win over Den Bosch.
After the win, Fofana spoke with Fox Sports, “Two goals, my debut, the win… I am very happy and proud of the boys. I know where I come from, it was a long way. I have also been away with an injury for a long time and have had a difficult time during that time. Then come back right away: that’s just great.”
