de boer cDe Boer represented Barcelona as a player between 1999 and 2003, helping the club to the La Liga Championship in the 1998-99 season.

Now De Boer is one of the most impressive young managers in world football, and has guided his Ajax side to three consecutive Eredivisie championships.

Yesterday’s hugely impressive 2-1 win over Barcelona has raised the profile of the 43-year-old even further, and big clubs are starting to be linked with the former defender.

When asked by Barcelona daily newspaper Sport, about potentially managing Barcelona in the future, De Boer admitted it was a dream, but also that he is fully focused on Ajax.

He said, “I have a lot to learn, but you never know. It would be a dream, but for now I just think about Ajax.”

Ajax are currently sitting 3rd in the league table after recently coming into form, and De Boer has the chance of becoming the first manager to guide the Amsterdam side to four straight Eredivisie titles.
