De Boer has been associated with the Oranje job since Dick Advocaat announced his decision to step down last month, but previously stated he would rather remain as a club coach. However, speaking on Ziggo Sport show Peptalk, De Boer said he would consider taking over the national team if asked.
He said, “I do not know if I would say yes or no, but I would like to think about it.
“I am a doer. I would like to be on the field, preferably every day to develop a team, as a national teamĀ coach, of course, that can be done much less, and I have to put it side by side.”
De Boer was sacked by Crystal Palace earlier this season and has been out of work since. Ronald Koeman is still the favourite to be named as Dick Advocaat’s successor.
I hope not
Oh god please no. We’ll get more of the same – selecting and starting Ajax players for the Oranje when they have zero experience playing at anything close to the international level. FDB would undoubtedly use the 4-3-3 as well, and we’ve seen how “well” that’s gone the last few years :/
Koeman at least knows how to be practical in his tactics given the players he has, who he will also select with far more care than the last couple coaches have.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
