Fred Rutten spoke to the NOS during his unveiling as Anderlecht manager.

The former Feyenoord boss was named as the new head coach of the Belgian side at the weekend and is tasked with improving their disappointing campaign. Anderlecht currently sit fifth in the table. 

Rutten said, ”Anderlecht will not be an easy task. For me the most important thing for a big club is to be fighting at the top of the league ‘

”I am going to assess my players in the coming weeks and look at how we can improve.

”I am not thinking about what choice I was in regards to getting this job. A friend of mine in football once said if you are first choice to take over at a club you do not belong there.”
