According to De Telegraaf, Frenkie de Jong is set to join French champions PSG for a fee of €75 million in the summer.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich recently, but it appears to be PSG that has won the race to sign the midfielder.

According to De Telegraaf, a delegation from PSG were in Amsterdam to commit a “Robbery” and take De Jong from Ajax for €75 million next summer. The newspaper has photos of the player’s agent in talks with the PSG representatives, who will now meet with Ajax director Marc Overmars

Overmars has reportedly confirmed the visit of the French delegation but said that there is no final agreement yet and that more clubs have shown interest. PSG want to wrap up the deal quickly and efficiently just days after their star Kylian Mbappe stated he hoped De Jong would join the club.

De Telegraaf add that De Jong prefered a move to Paris over Manchester, while City may have pulled out of the race while under investigation from UEFA.

The transfer will smash the Eredivisie record which currently stands at the €40 million paid by Tottenham to Ajax for Davinson Sanchez.

It is not known when the deal will be officially confirmed with both clubs currently in an important phase of the season.
