Frenkie de Jong is happy with Netherlands performance against Estonia on Monday and believes the national team is on the right track.

It’s been a year since Frenkie de Jong made his first Netherlands start in a 2-1 loss against France. However, since then, Netherlands have reached the UEFA Nations League final and are on course to qualify for Euro 2020 if they win their next four qualifiers.

Speaking after the 4-0 win over Estonia on Monday evening, De Jong told AD, “A lot has happened since that match against France. Yes, sometimes I realise that.

“It is all going very fast but I am especially happy that we have also won against Estonia here. It sometimes seems so easy for the outside world, but it is not always.

“We have made great strides in the past year with the Dutch team. I think we can do much more. But now let us qualify for the European Championship first. Then we can show what we are capable of in the final round.”
