Memphis Depay and Lyon face an uphill battle to reach the next round of the Champions League after a 0-0 draw with Barcelona in France.

Memphis has been out of form recently, having not scored since November. He was dropped to the bench for the win over Guingamp on Friday but returned to the starting line-up for the visit of Barcelona.

The Dutch international has been vocal that he is hoping for a big move to an elite club in the summer and the clash on Tuesday was a chance for him to showcase his ability.

However, despite playing 0-0 in the 0-0 draw, Memphis struggled to make an impression against the Spanish giants, who wasted several chances to win the game.

Memphis finished the game having created one chance, while he took only one shot which was off target. He completed 76.5% of passes and was only accurate with two out of six crosses. Not the influential performance that he would have been hoping for.

To earn a big move in the summer, Memphis needs to rediscover his form from 2018. Next up for Lyon is a trip to Monaco on Sunday.
