Netherlands U21’s defeated 10-man Egypt U21’s 1-0 thanks to a goal from PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.

Jong Oranje drew 0-0 with the USA at the weekend and Erwin van de Looi decided to make wholesale changes to his side. Tahith Chong, Cody Gakpo and Kaj Sierhuis were among the new faces in the starting eleven.
The only goal of the game came just after the break when Sierhuis set up Gakpo to fire in the opener.
Egypt were the better side for most of the game but were reduced to ten-men before the end when Mahmoud El Gazzar was shown a straight red for a tackle on Chong.
A win and a draw for Netherlands U21’s during this international week as they begin preparations for the start of the European Championship qualifiers later this year.
