The 33-year-old left Istanbul in January to join Ajax on loan until the end of the season, but Babel has not impressed in Amsterdam.
According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, Galatasaray don’t want to continue with Babel this summer and his agent is currently trying to work on a deal for the forward.
Ajax remains the main option but it is unclear whether the Amsterdam club would be interested in paying to sign Babel on a permanent basis. He is a big earner in Turkey, with wages of €2.5 million a year. His contract still runs for two more years.
