A hat-trick from Bryan Linssen saw Heracles beat 10-man Go Ahead Eagles 3-1 and lifts them off the bottom of the table.

redgoHeracles with three points from ten games had made the worst start to an Eredivisie season by any club ever, and it seemed their poor form was going to continue when Marnix Kolder headed Go Ahead Eagles in front on eight minutes.

However the game changed on its head after 21 minutes when Go Ahead Eagles midfielder Deniz Turuc was shown a straight red card for an over the top tackle on Fahd Aktaou.

Wout Weghorst squandered a glorious chance to equalise before the break as the striker could only shoot straight at Mickey van der Hart with the goal gaping. An injury to Mark jan Fledderus forced Heracles to bring on Bryan Linssen and two minutes into the second half the winger headed his side level from a corner.

Linssen then gave the away side the lead on 67 minutes, finishing from close range after Ousamma Tannane’s shot was parried by Van der Hart. Joel Veldmate hit the bar for Heracles, before Linssen completed his hat-trick in the 3rd minute of injury time.

Heracles are now off the bottom, above Dodrecht, while Go Ahead Eagles lie 14th.
