The home side dominated from the start and quickly found the opening goal on 12 minutes when Jules Reimerink capitalised on Kenny van der Weg’s error before slotting the ball past Jelle ten Rouwelaar.
Sven Nieuwpoort saw an effort cleared off the line by NAC forward Mat Seuntjens before Alex Schalk bundled the ball over the line to make it 2-0 for Go Ahead after good work from Jeffrey Rijsdijk on the right.
NAC Breda looked for a way back into the match, but goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart was barely troubled by efforts from Kingsley Boeteng, Erik Falkenburg and Adnane Tighadouini. Go Ahead were comfortable to play on the counter in the second half and Schalk nearly added a third, before NAC Breda were reduced to ten with Seuntjens receiving a straight red card.
The win moves Go Ahead Eagles to 14th, and five points ahead of NAC Breda, who sit 16th.
