Jean Paul Boetius then had two excellent chances to further the lead, firstly firing wide from a few yards out then hitting the post when played through by Tonny Vilhena.

Two minutes into the second half, Go Ahead Eagles were level with Mawouna Amevor going on a great run before firing into the bottom corner from just outside the box.

Just after the hour mark Feyenoord regained the lead, as Lex Immers fired home from close range after Eloy Room kept out Graziano Pelle’s sliding effort.

Samuel Armenteros then wasted a huge chance to make it 3-1 when he was put through on goal, but his effort was saved by Room.

Go Ahead Eagles made the away side pay for their numerous wasted chances as Marnix Kolder blasted a 22 yard free kick into the bottom corner and send the home crowd wild.

Feyenoord stay in 4th and miss the chance to climb to the top of the table, while Go Ahead Eagles stay 11th.
