The Deventer side, who currently sit bottom of the Eredivisie with only seven games to go, relieved De Koning of his duties last week after a string of disappointing defeats.

According to VI, Robert Maaskant is set to take over but only on a temporary deal until the end of the season. Pepijn Lijnders, who is at Liverpool, is the favourite to get the job permanently in the summer.

Maaskant was last in charge of NAC Breda, who he couldn’t save from relegation last season and eventually he was sacked last October. Before that, the 48-year-old has had spells in charge of Groningen, MVV, Willem II and abroad with Texas Dutch Lions and Wisla Krakow.
