booy jdbThe 2-0 defeat to Vitesse on Saturday, their fifth loss in a row, proved to be the final straw for the Go Ahead Eagles board who have taken immediate action to sack the Frisian, who took charge of the club in 2013.

Booy led Go Ahead Eagles to a surprisingly comfortable 13th place finish last season, but this campaign has been a struggle for the Deventer side, and with only six wins in 28 matches the club are in real danger of relegation.

Two weeks ago Booy announced that he would leave Go Ahead at the end of the season, but the club have decided they cannot wait that long.  Assistant coach Dennis Demmers is set to take over until the end of the season.
