Erik ten Hag’s tenure as Manchester United got off to a promising start as his side defeated Liverpool 4-0 in Bangkok.

The friendly in Asia saw Ten Hag take charge of his first game as Manchester United boss but there was no place in the starting eleven for either Donny van de Beek or Tyrell Malacia. Virgil van Dijk and Sepp van den Berg were on the Liverpool bench.

Manchester United got off to an excellent start and by half-time they were 3-0 up thanks to Jadon Sancho, Fred and Anthony Martial.

Malacia and van de Beek made their entrance in the second half, while Van Dijk made his entrance after an hour. Facunda Pellistri rounded off the convincing win for Manchester United late on.

Ten Hag lifted the Bangkok Century Cup thanks to the victory and the Dutchman can be very happy at his start as United boss.
