The 24-year-old has made 25 appearances for Atalanta this season alongside Hans Hateboer and Marten de Roon.
Germany have never come calling for the defender, who has a Dutch passport and speaking to AD, Gosens has stated he would welcome a call from Ronald Koeman and the KNVB.
He said, “They have seen me play a few times, but I have not heard anything yet.
“Of course it would be a huge honor if he calls me.
“I have two passports. I always use my German passport because I grew up with it, which is why many people do not know it, I think, but I have already renewed my Dutch passport in ‘s-Heerenberg, my parents live close by.
“I know the culture, I speak the language and I have a strong connection with the Netherlands If I were asked for Orange, I will think about it.”
Gosens had spells with Vitesse and Heracles Almelo before joining Atalanta in 2017.
Not seeing how this could happen, at least not in the near future. There are at least 5 other players with much more experience who can fill the LB role. Blind, Ake, Van Aanholt, and Willems all play regularly for their clubs. In addition, Vilhena deputized at left back pretty admirably in a few of the friendlies last summer.
