Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld scored his first goal for Bournemouth as they started their season with a 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League last season and lost Nathan Ake to Manchester City. However, Danjuma started their first game of the season against Blackburn.

The winger has suffered injury issues and struggled for form ever since joining Bournemouth but he was the hero on Saturday. With the score at 2-2, Danjuma found the top corner with his right foot to seal a win for his side.

Elsewhere, Phillip Cocu’s Derby County that featured Mike te Wierik, got off to a poor start as they lost 2-0 at home to Reading. Tim Krul kept a clean sheet in Norwich City’s 1-0 win over Huddersfield. Gustavo Hamer started for Coventry in their 2-1 loss to Bristol City, while Bruno Martins Indi featured in Stoke City’s 0-0 draw at Millwall. Joost van Aken also kept a clean sheet at the back for Sheffield Wednesday as they beat Cardiff City 2-0.
