Groningen came back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw against FC Twente in a clash between two sides aiming for a European spot.

Groningen and Twente have both had excellent start’s to their season and went into the game sitting in the top seven.
FC Twente got off to the better start with Danilo firing just wide before Dario Dumic did make it 1-0 from a corner in the 12th minute.
Ten minutes later, Thijs van Leeuwen latched onto a pass from Luka Ilic before firing past Sergio Padt to make it 2-0.
FC Groningen coach Danny Buijs made three changes at the break and one of the substitutes, Ramon Pascal Lundqvist, set up Ahmed El Messaoudi in the 47th minute to pull one back.
Jørgen Strand Larsen then equalised for the hosts in the 66th minute after a great cross from a cross from Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Groningen then pushed for a winner but the visitors held on to take a point.
Groningen remains in 6th with Twente one spot below them.
