Groningen have found their first win of 2016 after beating PEC Zwolle 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Groningen went into the game without a win in six matches, but Alexander Sorloth opened the scoring in the opening twenty minutes after taking advantage of an error from Mikey van der Hart.
PEC Zwolle nearly found an equaliser in the first half when Dirk Marcellis struck the post, but they did eventually equalise on 56 minutes when Thomas Lam headed past Sergio Padt.
Michael de Leeuw restored Groningen’s lead on 62 minutes before Danny Hoesen sealed the victory by tapping in Oussama Idrissi’s cross.
Groningen now climb above PEC Zwolle into eighth.
