Groningen have moved into the top seven after a 2-0 win over struggling Cambuur at the Euroborg.

The home side opened the scoring on 14 minutes when Bryan Linssen found Michael de Leeuw in the box and the attacker fired past Leonard Nienhuis. Moments later it was almost 2-0 in identical fashion, but this time De Leeuw could only send his shot wide of the post.
Groningen continued to dominate, but in the second half Cambuur became more dangerous through attackers Kevin van Veen and Rai Vloet. However the duo couldn’t find the equaliser and ten minutes before the end Oussama Idrissi cut in from the left before firing an excellent strike into the bottom corner.
The win moves Groningen up to 7th, while Cambuur remain second bottom and in deep relegation trouble.
