Jay-Roy Grot scored a great solo goal as Vitesse Arnhem defeated FC Twente 1-0.

FC Twente headed to Arnhem out of form and one point above the bottom three. Vitesse had also lost their last two games.

Noa Lang went close to scoring for Twente but his shot was denied by the post. At the other end, Joel Drommel saved from Nouha Dicko.

Vitesse were forced into an unwanted change in the first-half with Riechedly Bazoer limping off to be replaced by Grot.

The change proved to be vital with Grot scoring the opening goal in the 70th minute after a solo burst into the box. Twente were left furious by what they saw as a foul in the build-up but the goal stood.

Vitesse then held on for the win which sees them remain in seventh while Twente are 14th.
