The dethroned champions of the last four seasons are set to complete the transfer of AZ midfielder Nemanja Gudelj, according to Voetbal International. The Dutch football magazine also reports that father Nebojsa and little brother Dragi are set for a move to Amsterdam. Nebojsa will join the scouting team to use his knowledge of the Serbian market, whilst Dragi will join Ajax’s reserves side to show what he is capable of.

Nemanja left training at AZ earlier  today (Tuesday) to complete a medical with Ajax ahead of his €6million move. Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that the moves for his father and brother were proposed by Nemanja himself during contract negotiations. He was close to joining FC Porto in the summer but that move collapsed over bank guarantees that AZ  demanded. As mentioned, Ajax will pay  just over half of that sum one year later, but that figure triggered the agreed release clause in his contract .

Father Nebojsa was sacked by NAC Breda in  October after a poor run in the Dutch top flight.  As a player he was more succesful, Gudelj sr. was part of the NAC  team that reached 4th place in 2003. He would retire as a player just three years later.

Dragi currently plays for NAC reserves and made his Serbia U18 debut in June of last year. The left-back will be keen to impress at Ajax as they are currently low on left-backs.

Ajax and AZ could not have picked a better moment to conclude this deal: Nemanja is banned for this week’s game against… NAC! The midfielder picked up a red card in the previous game against FC Twente.
