Guidetti, currently on loan with Scottish side Celtic, is out of contract this summer at Manchester City and has been linked with a return to Feyenoord on a free transfer.
The Swedish international spent the 2011-12 season on loan in Rotterdam, scoring 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie appearances, and although he was linked with a move back to Feyenoord in the summer, director Martin van Geel thought his fitness and price tag was too much of a risk.
However now that the 22-year-old will be available on a free transfer this summer a move could happen, and Guidetti admitted that he dreams of returning to De Kuip.
Guidetti told RTV Rijnmond, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what the future predicts.
“I just hope that one day I will put on the red and white jersey again.
“That’s a dream of mine, of course. It truly feels like a second home to me.”
He added on the Feyenoord fans, “It’s always great that they remember you and I think that shows something about the fans. It just shows that they have a good heart and they truly care about their club, and I think that’s really beautiful, and the feeling’s mutual.
“I always look at the live scores at how did it go for Feyenoord. I can actually say that I’m a supporter of Feyenoord, so it goes both ways. They think I’m a legend, I think they’re a legend, so the feeling’s mutual.”
During his season in the Eredivisie Guidetti netted a hat-trick against rivals Ajax, and the Swede is already looking to go one better, “I can always do better. We came second in the league, we can come first. So of course we can do it better. And I think four goals against Ajax would be better.”
This would make a ton of sense. The D has been great all year. Need to add more scoring. If somehow the “leadership” could retain CKR and sign Guidetti we would have the making of a good front line.
