Heerenveen were not affected by the news Marco van Basten will leave the club at the end of the season as they saw of ADO Den Haag 3-0 at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

Van Basten announced this week that he would not sign a new deal to stay on as coach of Heerenveen past this season, but his players returned to winning form with goals from Kenny Otigba and Alfred Finnbogason giving them a 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag.
The first half was a dull affair with ADO captain Danny Holla having the best effort with a long effort that Kristoffer Nordfeldt had to push away.
On 58 minutes a Hakim Ziyech free-kick was fumbled by Coutinho, and defender Kenny Otigba slid in to knock the ball into the net and give Heerenveen the lead.
Ten minutes later the home side were awarded a penalty after a foul on Bilal Basacikoglu, and Alfred Finnbogason made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-0.
As ADO Den Haag pushed for a way back into the game they were hit on the break, as Rajiv van La Parra beat his marker before slamming the ball past Coutinho to make it 3-0 in injury time.
A good win for Heerenveen which keeps them in 5th place this weekend, while ADO Den Haag remain in the bottom three.
