Heerenveen eased to a 3-0 win over Roda JC in the Abe Lenstra Stadion to move into the Eredivisie top ten.

The home side dominated from the first whistle with Branco van den Boomen sending a long range strike wide, while Luciano Slagveer passed up two good opportunities in front of goal. Finally after 29 minutes the deadlock was broken as Caner Cavlan raced into the box before sending a strike against the post, but Mitchel te Vrede was in hand to tap in the rebound.
Before the break it was 2-0 for Heerenveen with Slagveer given too much time on the edge of the box before sending an excellent strike over Benjamin van Leer and into the top corner.
Hapless Roda JC didn’t create a single chance in the Heerenveen box in the first half, but improved slightly after the break with Erwin Mulder having to deny Mitchell Paulissen.
However Heerenveen then settled the tie from the penalty spot with Te Vrede converting after he had been fouled.
Heerenveen now leap into tenth place in the table, while Roda JC remain 13th.
