SC Heerenveen has confirmed the signing of NEC Nijmegen defender Syb van Ottele.

The 18-year-old has signed a deal until 2024 with NEC only receiving a small fee because the youngster had six months left on his contract.
“Syb has been on our radar for a while”, Heerenveen technical manager Gerry Hamstra told the club’s website. “He is a talented, modern and versatile defender who is also good at the ball. We see in him someone who can develop further with us and grow into a key player. We are happy that he has chosen us.”
The Netherlands U18 international made nine appearances for NEC Nijmegen this season.
