Heerenveen has confirmed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old joined Brighton from NAC Breda two weeks ago, but will be immediately loaned to Heerenveen.
Heerenveen technical director Gerry Hamstra told the club’s website, “It is very nice that Jan Paul has chosen us. Van Hecke made 16 appearances for NAC Breda’s first-team in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
He is the latest player to join Heerenveen after Henk Veerman, Pawel Bochniewicz, Erwin Mulder, Ulysses Llanez, Sieben Dewaele, Joaquin Fernรกndez and Oliver Batista Meier.
