Heerenveen came from behind to defeat Willem II 2-1 despite an early red card for winger Anthony Musaba.

The Frisian’s were reduced to ten men in the 21st minute with Musaba seeing his second yellow card. However, Willem II could not take advantage of the extra-man in the first half which remained goalless.

Finally, in the 69th minute, Che Nunnely fired Willem II ahead at the back post after a pass from substitute Ringo Meerveld. However, the lead only lasted a minute before Joey Veerman set up Filip Stevanovic to fire into the corner to equalise.

Veerman then set up Nick Bakker to make it 2-1 for Heerenveen as Willem II threw the game away. The visitors also ended the game with ten men as Miquel Nelom saw his second yellow card.

Heerenveen are up to tenth and one spot behind Willem II.
