Heerenveen achieved their fourth win of the season on Saturday evening as they hammered 9-man Emmen 4-0.

Fans may not have been allowed into the stadium, but 15,000 teddy bears were parked on the seats of the Abe Lenstra Stadion to raise awareness for children with cancer.

In the 26th minute, Heerenveen had the lead when Benjamin Nygren set Henk Veerman in on goal and the striker calmly found the net. Three minutes later, Veerman returned the favour by setting up Nygren to double the lead.

Any chance of an Emmen comeback was shattered seven minutes into the second half when Simon Tibbling was shown his second yellow card for a tackle on Joey Veerman.

Rodney Kongolo made it 3-0 with his heel in the 71st minute, before Henk Veerman got his second to complete the scoring.

Emmen finished the game with nine-men after Nikolai Laursen was shown red for a late challenge on Pawel Bochniewicz.

Heerenveen move to third while Emmen are down in 16th.
