Heerenveen got their first win in a month, defeating Willem II 2-0 in the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

The hosts went into the game on the back of two defeats and two draws, with their last win coming a month ago against FC Twente. Willem II defeated Roda JC last weekend, but were knocked out of the KNVB Cup by Feyenoord in midweek.
After only 13 minutes, Heerenveen took the lead when Lucas Woudenberg fired the ball into the bottom corner from just outside the box.
Neither side created any good chances before the break, but two minutes into the second half, Denzel Dumfries found Reza Ghoochannejhad in the box and the Iranian fired into the net to make it 2-0.
Willem II offered nothing going forward except a blocked Fran Sol attempt and Heerenveen comfortably held on to their lead. They climb above Heracles into ninth while Willem II drop to 15th.
