Heerenveen have put head coach Jan Olde Riekerink on gardening leave from immediate effect.

Olde Riekerink was appointed Heerenveen coach last summer as the successor of Jurgen Streppel.
However, this season has been a struggle for the Frisian side, who currently sit 10th in the Eredivisie table. A European playoff place seems unlikely for Heerenveen and their board has now decided to act.
Old Riekerink has now been made inactive and his coaching staff will take over until the end of the season.
